My copy came in the mail and I waited for a few days to open it. I needed to have the actual time to enjoy the contents of the package without just going through it like “any old mail”. It was so fun, so exciting, to see a book written by an influencer that I love on TikTok. To have her book in my hands…well, this video shows my and my partners first thoughts after receiving it.
A message to you, Mercury Stardust – This book is *chefs kiss*, and I mean it when I say that this is not just a book for renters. It’s definitely for homeowners as well. Let’s begin with the cover. The artists rendering of Mercury is perfection. It showcases her just as her energy is portrayed in every video she makes. Showing it how it is, tools-a-flyin’, always on the ready (loaded hand – or mouth when it comes to defending and protecting people online), and a little added sparkle when the light hits it just right – that’s her! In a nutshell…bookcover.
The beginning of the book doesn’t go right into handy-maam work. It starts at square one, apartment hunting. Working through the details, financing, reading a lease, and of course, the emotional reset parts of ensuring you’re doing the super important work of taking care of yourself through the process.
It then moves on to moving in and making this home your own, requesting repairs and what tools you might need as a renter (homeowner). It then goes into how to do repairs yourself.
Now, I’ve lived in a lot of rentals, and have also owned my own homes. I’m telling you, the information in this book is helpful for everyone. I cringe sometimes at the thought of people doing DIY work, but this is detailed information with QR codes to see her videos on how to do the repairs properly. It’s so thorough and well put together…and absolutely refreshing as someone who often times helps homeowners sell and buy homes that have had renters living in them.
And each section has an emotional reset piece. This is the absolute frosting on the cake, the cherry on top, the sprinkles on the ice cream…all the special things. Focusing on the emotional well being of all humans…yes please!
I want to finish by saying that Mercury Stardust is a queen. She is always the one I see standing up for and defending people within her community, despite the flack she might receive. This person is an absolute gem of a human and deserving of all the love, praise, and support she is receiving right now for releasing this book. Congratulations Mercury! What a treasure you and your book are!
